FAQ
Questions people actually ask.
If yours isn't here, ask us — we'll answer, and if it's a good question we'll add it to this page.
Verifying a document
In the footer of the document, next to the small QR code. It begins with UNI- and looks like UNI-INT-INT-2607-002. On multi-page documents it appears on every page; on shorter ones, at least on the last. If your copy is faded or has been photocopied repeatedly and you cannot read every character, use the help form and we will find it for you.
No, and no. Verification is open to anyone, it is free, and there is nothing to sign up for. We do not ask for your name, your email, or a payment to confirm whether a document is real. If anyone tells you otherwise, they are not acting for Uni B Agency.
Type the document ID into the box on our home page instead — it goes to the same record. QR codes suffer from photocopying, faxing, folding and low-quality printing, so this happens more often than you would think. If neither the code nor the ID is readable, send us a photo of the page through the help form.
Not necessarily. In our experience the most common cause is a single mistyped character — 0 for O, 1 for I, or a missing digit at the end. Read it back slowly and try again. If the ID is definitely correct and it still returns nothing, then we did not issue that document, and we would like to know about it.
Scanning proves you are holding the actual document, because the QR code contains a long private link that cannot be guessed. So we show you full details. Typing an ID only proves you can read a code — and codes can be read over your shoulder — so for private documents we show less: the reference, the status, the month of issue, and the fingerprint. Both answer the question "is this real?". Scanning answers more.
Understanding the result
It means the document is genuine but a newer version has replaced it. That is routine — a corrected figure, a revised date, an amended clause, a renewed term. Your document is a real record of what we issued at the time. It just is not the current one, so do not rely on it for a decision without checking the newer version.
That we have withdrawn the document and it should not be relied on. It may have been issued in error, replaced by something that changed its meaning, or withdrawn at a party's request. We publish the reason in general terms only. Revoked documents cannot be downloaded from this portal by anyone — including the people named in them — because a withdrawn document circulating as though it still stands causes real problems.
Trust the portal and tell us. If the title, the date, or the status on this page differs from what is printed on your copy, then your copy has been altered after we issued it — even though the ID is real. That is a serious thing and we want to see it. Use the fraud report form and attach a photo if you can.
Because confirming that a document is real and reading what is inside it are two different things. Most of our documents contain information that belongs to the people named in them — terms, figures, personal details — and we do not hand that to anyone who happens to know a reference number. If you are named in the document, contact us and we will send a private link to the address on our record.
Trust and fraud
Fair question, and the right instinct. Check the address bar: this portal only ever lives at , over HTTPS. It is linked from our main site at unibagency.com, so you can reach it by going there first rather than trusting a link someone sent you. And we will never ask you for a password, a payment, a card number or a copy of your ID here.
Report it. Use the fraud report form, attach whatever you have, and tell us whether money has been requested or sent. If money has already moved, contact your bank or mobile money provider first — that window closes fast — then tell us. You can report anonymously if you would prefer. We investigate every report and, where we confirm a forgery, we act on it.
No. We will confirm that a document is genuine, when it was issued, and what its status is. We will not tell you who is named in it, what it is worth, or anything else about the parties involved — not to you, and not to anyone else asking about a document of yours. That restraint is the reason the portal can be open to everyone.
Practical
Yes — talk to us. If you are an employer, a bank, a school or an institution that receives our documents regularly, we will set you up with a proper process, including a way to check documents at volume without hitting the rate limit that protects the public portal. Email contact@unibagency.com and tell us roughly what you are handling.
Yes, and we are upfront about it. We log which document ID was searched, when, and a technical record of the request — including an anonymised form of your IP address and your browser type. We use that to catch people working through IDs one by one looking for a hit, and to spot documents that keep failing to verify. We do not ask who you are and we do not build a profile of you.
